Hi
I’ve been using AppFlowy and really appreciate its potential, but I’ve encountered a recurring issue that affects the user experience when working with external text. Specifically, when copying text from external sources (e.g., ChatGPT, web pages, or other editors) and pasting it into AppFlowy, or when importing content from Markdown files using the import feature, the original formatting of the source text is not preserved. This leads to significant disruption, particularly in the following cases:
- Code Blocks: Text within code blocks (e.g., triple-backtick sections in Markdown) loses its structure, and the content becomes jumbled or flattened into regular text, making it difficult to distinguish from surrounding paragraphs.
- Bullet Points/Lists:Ordered or unordered lists (e.g., - or in Markdown) are not properly rendered, resulting in misaligned or collapsed items, which breaks the intended hierarchy and readability.
This issue undermines the ability to seamlessly integrate content from other tools or workflows into AppFlowy, especially for users like me who rely on it for managing technical notes or documentation. I’d greatly appreciate it if the team could investigate this problem and implement a fix to ensure that pasted or imported text retains its original formatting—particularly for code blocks and bullet points—as seen in the source.
If you need additional details, such as example files or screenshots demonstrating the issue, I’d be happy to provide them. Thank you for your hard work on this project, and I look forward to seeing this improvement in a future update!
